LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT: Nature by Design MLandscape

BUILDER: Gayteway Custom Homes

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Set within the rugged terrain of Gozzer Ranch, this new build is conceived as an extension of the land itself, carefully composed to elevate daily living toward the horizon. Rather than impose upon the site, the architecture steps and settles into the natural contours, using the topography as both guide and generator.

The main living spaces are lifted just enough to capture long views across the landscape and out toward the lake, creating a quiet sense of prospect without ever feeling detached from the ground. This subtle elevation allows the home to engage both the immediacy of the terrain and the distance of the scenery, framing each moment with intention.

A restrained material palette of weathered wood, natural stone, and darkened metal anchors the home to its surroundings, allowing it to age gracefully alongside the environment. Horizontal lines stretch outward, reinforcing the connection to the land, while carefully placed openings draw light deep into the interior and choreograph views that shift throughout the day.

Inside, the primary living areas are organized as a sequence of spaces that unfold toward the view, with indoor and outdoor boundaries intentionally blurred. Terraces and covered extensions become natural continuations of the interior, offering moments of shelter and exposure in equal measure.

The result is a home that does not compete with its setting, but heightens it a place where architecture and landscape work in concert, and where every room is quietly oriented toward what matters most.
