PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Perched above La Jolla’s coastal shore with views to the ocean, drawing inspiration from the clients’ deep appreciation for contemporary architecture, as well as their longing to encapsulate sunny Southern California’s spirit, this design concept for Elevated Horizon was born. This new construction of a two-story single-family home is designed to experience nature and support active lifestyles. The architecture of the residence embodies a contemporary and relaxed style that perfectly suits its coastal surroundings, its designated family-oriented purpose, and an ethos of simplicity, resulting in a minimalist aesthetic and a sense of restraint.
Every corner, every niche, has been meticulously designed to exude an aura of refined elements, a testament of coastal taste that guided the curation of minimalist finishes. A composition of neutral tone travertine, wood paneled ceilings, and dark ionized aluminum metal reinforce the clean lines. The synergy between thoughtful juxtaposition of textures creates a visual cadence that resonates throughout the interior spaces. Enhancing occupant comfort is achieved by considering the warm material palette, which effectively minimizes stress and tension.
